What can digital x-rays detect?

Digital x-rays serve several roles in helping Dr. Jung diagnose and plan treatment for our patients. These images give us an internal look at your teeth and jawbone so we can detect specific problems early on.

Some of the concerns that show up on x-rays are:

  • Tooth decay
  • Signs of periodontal (gum) disease
  • Areas of abscess or infection
  • Tooth impaction
  • Compromised restorations
  • Tooth positioning for orthodontic treatment

Protecting Your Healthy Smile

Taking yearly bite-wing x-rays also provides us with a baseline for your dental health so we can monitor any changes that could be potentially problematic.

X-rays also help us clarify and plan treatment so you can make the best decisions for your dental health. Digital images are readily available to share with you after we take them so you can be involved in treatment planning.

Safety First

Digital x-rays are quickly captured and processed without harmful chemicals, making them environmentally safe.

They also emit 80 percent less radiation than film X-rays, making them safer for our patients.
